19 August 2024
The turn of July and August saw the second edition of the Daylight Academy’s (DLA) Interdisciplinary Summer School “Measuring Light and Illumination” take place in Chexbres, Switzerland. You can now look back at the event by accessing our picture gallery on Flickr here!
A total of 22 students took part in the week-long summer school, that focused on measuring and exploring the multi-faceted effects of light, especially daylight. This was conducted through a wide variety of classes, lectures and workshops. Looking back at the event, participants highlighted the collaborative nature of the classes that focused on a wide range of thought-provoking topics.
Over a dozen teaching staff, many of them DLA members, dedicated their time and effort to provide an immersive and truly interdisciplinary learning experience. This included the measuring of daylight through a variety of instruments, the painting of colour spectrum ranges, as well as a field trip in the picturesque Alpine countryside overlooking Lake Geneva.
The 2024 Interdisciplinary Summer School took place two years after the first edition in 2022. The latter’s activities were documented in a special booklet which you can access here.
