Christmas freebie! Summer School “Measuring Light and Illumination” booklet now available in printed form

With Christmas round the corner, we are pleased to announce that our PDF booklet, which summarises the experiences and learnings of the students and lecturers who took part in Daylight Academy’s Interdisciplinary Summer School “Measuring Light and Illumination”, has now also been published in printed form.

The 130-page booklet, which features a wide range of contributions, edited by Prof. Manuel Spitschan and Dr Anna Biller, can be ordered online here. Delivery is free of charge.

The five-day-long summer school took place in Chexbres, Switzerland, during August 2022. Drawing inspiration from the cyanometer – an 18th century instrument used to measure the colour of the sky – the classes were primarily focused on measuring light and its effects on human health. The location of the summer school, overlooking Lake Geneva, was specially selected to reflect where the inventor of the cyanometer, Horace Bénédict de Saussure, himself used to make his measurements.
