Light for Public Health Initiative enters new phase

The Light for Public Health Initiative – a global alliance promoting healthier lives through evidence-based use of light – has taken an important new step. The founding organisations, including the Daylight Academy, have now signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), formalising their collaboration to strengthen the initiative’s impact.

Light profoundly influences how we sleep, feel, and function. Yet, its impact on health remains under-recognised in public awareness and policy. The initiative aims to make scientific knowledge on light and health both accessible and actionable, helping people integrate healthier light habits into daily life.

As part of this new phase, the 26 expert consensus statements that form the foundation of the campaign have been published as an open-access article in BMJ Public Health and translated into 18 languages.

The Daylight Academy is proud to contribute to this international effort to bridge science and society, raising awareness of how daylight and healthy light environments support well-being across the globe.
