The Daylight Award is given every two years and aims to honour and support daylight research and daylight in architecture. It has been established by the three foundations VILLUM FONDEN, VELUX FONDEN and VELUX STIFTUNG to raise a holistic understanding of daylight and increase its positive impact on life.
The next ceremony will take place on 16 May 2024 and nominations can be sent until 15 September 2023. The laureates will be selected by a jury, which shall represent the highest level of expertise in the field of daylight research and daylight architecture, including relevant and comprehensive knowledge of the international scientific and architectural world. The jury 2024 consists of Juhani Pallasmaa, Dorte Mandrup, Iwan Baan, Yvonne de Kort and three DLA members: Russell Foster, Michael J. Balick and Gerd Folkers.
To further support cross-disciplinarity and bridge-building, The Daylight Award is premiering a series of video conversations about daylight. You can watch the first conversation between Lars Courage and DLA member Marilyne Andersen here.
