At the inauguration of the Daylight Academy in November 2016, the founding members agreed to write an interdisciplinary but non-exhaustive overview on the current state of knowledge and the still unanswered questions in the various fields working on daylight. Spring and summertime showed an amazing effort of collaboration among the authors and the publishing offices. More than 40 members co-authored the Lightbook which was published as a feature booklet with Science AAAS Publishing. This was the first DLA publication.
