The Daylight Academy (DLA) is proud to announce its reprint of a paper produced by the DLA’s “The role of daylight for humans” project. The article was published online earlier this year in The Journal of the Illuminating Engineering Society (LEUKOS), under the title: “Open-Source Python Module for the Analysis of Personalized Light Exposure Data from Wearable Light Loggers and Dosimeters”.
It introduces a new module called pyLight, which allows users to extract light exposure data recordings from a wide range of devices. Featuring not just an introduction to the module, but also a worked example, the article suggests that pyLight can serve as a benchmark for alternative software solutions.

“The role of daylight for humans” project is co-led by Dr Mirjam Münch (University of Basel, Switzerland) and Prof. Manuel Spitschan (Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics & Technical University of Munich, Germany). You can find out more about the project here.
